Workshop with Regi Carpenter
The Stories Within
"The shortest distance between two people is a story"
Our workshop will focus on the powerful, memorable and effective ways personal stories allow preachers to connect to themselves, their congregations, communities and something greater than themselves. Participants will experience the art and craft of personal storytelling from how to take an experience and turn it into a story, effective means of telling a story, universality of a story message, and finally how to listen to yourself and the wisdom of the stories within you. The day will include listening, sharing, and reflective writing.
Regi Carpenter has been using the power of stories to motivate, inspire, energize and focus individuals in corporate, academic and non-profit settings for more than twenty years. She teaches at Ithaca College and is the founder of Stories with Spirit, bringing songs and stories of hope to grieving children and their families. She lives in Upstate New York.
